Title: Presidential Elections '08
Ikarou007 - October 16, 2008 07:38 PM (GMT)
Ugh, how inconvenient. It was such an interesting topic too, before the server problems occurred.
Hm, anyway. Since there isn't a way to replicate exactly the discussions that were taken place before in the other thread, the only valid option is to try and simulate the way it was before. There were a few replies I intended to make to a couple posts here and there, and I'm sure this applied to many more people than me. So, without further ado, gogogo.
As I stated before, I wholeheartedly support Barack Obama, and my views didn't change from last night's debate.
itzeggplant - October 16, 2008 08:27 PM (GMT)
In all honesty, last night's debate made me lol. What the heck was with Joe the Plumber? Obama's continuous comments with South Korea annoyed me, since well, I'm from South Korea, and it's my birthplace.
I still support Nader, even though there's zero chance he'll actually win.
once in a blue mew - October 16, 2008 11:13 PM (GMT)
OBAMA FO' YO MOMMA.
*cough*
Anyways, I also like Obama, but in all seriousness, McCain has a potential to take this. What with all the racist people we still have leftover. But this looks like it could be a very tight race, towards the end, that is.

At the moment, Obama is leading in the theoretical electoral vote count, with enough to surpass the needed 270 to take the White House.

I thought he had 268 electoral votes?

Nope, he now has possession of a theoretical 278 electoral votes, as cited by
CNN. With the addition of Virgina as a blue state, albeit leaning, it has set Obama over the necessary 270. Not only that, but a couple red states have shifted from being 'safe', to 'leaning', only adding to the troubles McCain faces towards the final neck of the race.
Hopefully, Nader won't screw things up this time around for the democrats.
once in a blue mew - October 23, 2008 01:53 AM (GMT)
Woah, only a few more days until Election Day.
I wish I could vote, because this is gonna be an epic race.
I heard my History Teacher say that my county (y'know, area where I live?) is gonna have about 80% turn out of voters. This election is big, lol.
Marine Ranger - November 2, 2008 02:20 PM (GMT)
I do not support any of them. I hate politics and I will never vote. Tho if I have to I would go with McCain
Wolf-RS - November 2, 2008 02:52 PM (GMT)
Obama has better solutions then McCain. The thing about Obama is the fact that health care will be lowered. Which is a good thing for people but, not doctors. Obama is playing the game fair unlike McCain, who is playing alittle dirty.Don't get me wrong, I hate some things about Obama too. So, my vote goes to Obama.
KeybladeKid - November 5, 2008 02:18 AM (GMT)
I have to say I dont like ether of the canidiates. Mccain is Bush's grandfather and will do little change for this country. Obama has good ideas but I don't see how he will be able to carry those out in the state we are in. I would have to choose Obama only on the fact that Palin COULD NOT and SHOULD NOT be incharge of this country. We dont want someone worse than Bush and and dick cheanny
charburble - November 5, 2008 04:04 AM (GMT)
as of now Obama won well Mccain led up a good run he got close to winning

Wow, that's extremely ignorant.
Bardock - November 5, 2008 02:43 PM (GMT)
I support McCain.
Even though Obama won, he didn't even deserve to RUN for election!
At least McCain did things for America

One of the worst posts on the internet I have ever seen.

So does that mean he's qualified to run it?
I'm not going to do something as horrible as deny McCain's love for this country. He loves it just as much as I do, if not even more. His sacrifices and life story in Vietnam only skim the surface of the passion that man has for his country.
However, McCain is merely a shadow of his former self, compared to as he once was prior to 2000. The man who had a firm stance against the Bush tax cuts, voted to make them permanent. A man who now puts air quotes around "Woman's health", a man who supports some of Bush's worse economic policies. I'm not going to dare say McCain doesn't have the passion to lead this country, I'm merely saying I do not agree with his judgment in doing so.
So I expect you to not be such a sheep and deny Obama's love for this great nation. He has spent nearly every second of his life working from the bottom-up to attain the position he is now, and is willing to devote even more of his ability to giving that same opportunity to all Americans everywhere, regardless of racial, or financial background. Whether you're a conservative or a liberal, only the close-minded ignorant of Americans can deny the historic aspects of this election. The first African American man to run on a major party ticket, also became the first African American President of America. If you actually care about this nation, spend at least a second, or maybe even a minute, to reflect on what a great achievement this is. Not for him, but rather, for the United States of America.

I never said I denied it. I said I don't think he deserves to run the country.

You're accusing him of association with domestic terrorism, which is the equivalent of denying his love for his country.
