I just decided to see some fable vids and I stumbled upon some pretty sweet gears 2 vids on ign. Some are a bit dated, but others just released a few days ago. I really learned some neat stuff from them. Anyone else pumped for this very epic game? No pun intended btw.

This is the only game right now that I am going to buy. I want to buy other games but just don't have the money to afford them right now.

Gears 2 looks sick and with the new party system, new characters, new levels, and awesome finishes it just makes me want it more.

Once I fix my 360 and get live back we can play together again Jak. Just like the old days... and by that I mean most of summer with Halo 3. Btw I'm not being the fatboy anymore when I get live back ;~;

Glad to know a lot of people here are buying it (not surprised however, it is an awesome game). The gameplay looks much more smoother/fluid this time around, judging by the ign vids. Plus the new weapons and executions looks kickass as well.

I wonder how that's going to work, with some people having different colored weapons.

I'm pretty sure it's a code you get. Whether or not you get it right when you pre-order it or when the game comes out, I'm not sure. I didn't pre-order it but my cousin did, but he didn't say anything about the gold lancer so I dunno.

As for the colored thing, as long as the gold lancer is still the same weapon I'll be fine with it. Btw, a gold color seems stupid in Gears were the game you have to hide a lot and it could give you away pretty easily. Imagine looking through the scope for people and you see a gold flash somewhere. No point hiding anymore.

You'd probably have the option to turn it on or off anyway.

Actually the golden weapon(s) don't give away your position. It doesn't give a sparkle color or anything, plus its hard to tell if your weapon is golden unless your upclose on the enemy/ally and you press the left trigger to zoom in. Even if the gun is entirely red or purple it wouldn't give your position away anymore than the normal colored weapons.

That's what I meant before, too. Some people got it early. It is possible to get a game before it's official release date.

Pre-Ordering is always an option too.

Just a heads up for you guys both ign and gamespot released their gears 2 reviews. I finished reading the ign one yesterday and I just read the gamespot one. I felt the scores were fair, and they gave much praise to it while saying the few problems it had. These next few days are gonna go very slowly. :mmmrph:

My cousin is getting this game tonight, he's spending the night at his friends house who also pre-ordered it and they all are going at midnight to get it then play all night long. Then I'm going over there for the weekend to play 8D

@Shoots: Yeah you can easily pick it up. I think stores like Circuit City, Walmart, etc will have enough limited editions left, and hundreds for regular editions.

Yeah I played on the weekend at my cousins house. The online is so f'd up when it comes to matchmaking. Takes like 5 minutes just to get a party done. Also, the game is really glitchy.

Other than that, it is insanely awesome <3 I played a lot of co-op with my cousin and plenty of online and I love both.

Glitchy? I haven't encountered any type of glitches so far, and I've been playing for quite some time. I do agree however the party system is whack and needs to be fixed. I noticed however, that yesterday during the entire day, joining games was much easier. I didn't have school so this probably explains it.

Hmm I played over the weekend and it was pretty glitchy. Maybe it toned down a bit yesterday? Oh, and did you notice how the new finishes suck balls? In all the trailers and such they look brutal, but the ones in the game are just week. I mean come on, the sniper execution just taps them on the back. Epic needs to throw in an update or two, fast.

Btw what did you think of the story? Playing co-op with my cousin the last part I got to was [dammit spoiler tags ain't workin] Then I had to leave ;-;

Story is dark and brutal, just how I like it.

And for the executions, they can't go all out and be very drawn out and gory, would leave you wayyy to open in Multiplayer, unless he's the last guy I never execute.

Benny..... oh him ;-;. Yeah I was pissed off when he died. Poor guy, he was badass. Although Cole was also pretty damn badass in campaign, mainly when he saves everyone.
