Title: Wow. Just... Wow. [DEATH NOTE SPOILERS]

I quite clearly stated that this was a major spoiler to the end of Death Note, so I'll give you a warning.
Don't go further unless you wanna be spoiled...
Ok then. That should be enough to determine if you want to keep it a surprise or not.
So like, Light's death was hilarious and tear-jerking at the same time. But the whole ending episode was epic lol. I was seriously in total shock and like, ":O!". No shit, you should have seen my face when Matsuda shot the ground next to Light's head.
But... god, that was a major plot-twist at the end, seeing as how Near didnt' die, even though I really wanted him too. Mello's death seemed well-deserved to me. But like.. Wow. That was an amazing Anime, from the ones that I've watched. The ending credits were also a pretty sad part, like Light just laying there on the stairwell and Misa sort of knowing that Light is dead.
Speaking of Misa. Light seemed like a fucking playah. He was all, "OLOL I <3 U MISA BKUZ U KAN LEIK, C PPLZ ANEMS" and then he went to the announcer lady and was like, "<3 I NO U FRUM CAWLEGE. AND LEIK, U NO MAH REPLAECMENT KIRA."
Anyways, this was an epicly good series, but had a major plot-twist at the end. I honestly thought that Light was gonna be like, god of the world or something.
I give the series a 9/10, since it really surprised me, but L died. D:

I thought the series was lame, sure cool idea with the Antagonist being evil and shit, but when you get to the point of evil where he has no soul...I see no point.
Plus, it sucked after L died.
5/10 :<

I second that.
I still finished it for the sake of.. finishing it, but it wasn't as awesome as it was when L was alive.

I feel "suck" is a such a strong word, I do agree however that the 2nd part of death note wasn't as good as the 1st. I still think the anime as a whole is very suspenseful and very successful at what it was trying to dol.
I did feel very heart-jerked at the end of the anime. I actually went straight to Wikipedia, b/c multiple questions just came to me right when it ended. If you ever get the chance to you should download the death note 3-hr special. It kinda shows a little bit of what happened at the end of the anime, and it also shows some scenes that weren't shown in the anime/manga. Unfortunately about 1-2 hrs of the death note special is just flashbacks, so you might wanna skip those.

Manga ending>Anime ending.

As shooter and DD said, after L died it was just mostly a fill in to finish the anime...

Well, I felt like that, but the ending was epic lol with Replacement Kira going all, "GOD!~" when he saw Light. But... yeah, L made the series epic win. Near was fail, and Mello was a fag.

It actually was supposed to end when L died and Light would of ruled the world but the creators changed there minds and added Near to the mix.

That would have been a horrible ending.
Anyway, if I said the second half of Death Note sucked, I'd be exaggerating my own personal thoughts on the series. While it might not have completely sucked, I can say that it became drastically uninteresting after L died, to the point where I just stopped watching the series completely.
