Title: 360 died

TG_2 - October 25, 2008 04:37 AM (GMT)
For the 2nd time I'm having problems with my 360. I guess it's time to call customer service again. As stated in the title, my 360 is like dead. It isn't the three rings but instead one ring and the error is E 74 which I found out that it might be a problem w/the GPU or a scaler chip problem. **** man... I swear. **** Microsoft can't make a console right. If the warranty is still valid, I'm going to sell it after I get it back. I'm done w/my MS.

I just bought two games too...

Does anyone know if I can call MS saying that is RROD so they can send me the box or do they actually check if it is in fact RROD?

Buy a PS3. <_<
But seriously I heard that they don't even check for the RROD anymore and will just send you a refurbished console anyway. Lying is bad though. ;3

I go to my brother's to play PS3 and I always wanted to get one (MGS is a big factor). If I end up getting another 360 from MS, I plan on selling it and try to buy my own PS3. I wouldn't resort to lying if MS would actually learn how to make a console right. The first time I sent the 360, they sent me a new one. That was like 10 months ago, so the 360 didn't even last a year. And I will add that I don't even play that much. I might play like once a week at most.

Open it up, loosen something inside and then re tighten the outside. That way, if they do check. They'll see what's wrong and maybe refurbish and check everything else. :dtu:

oh shit I turned it on today and now shows the three rings . That means ms has to fix it :dtu:

Sry to hear about that dude, but even if you didn't have RROD and your 360 had some sort of problem, they would have sent you a new or refurbished one. I recommend not using the 360 for the entire day, then turn it on the next day.

I had an experience where my 360 got a RROD when I was playing Halo 3. I quickly turned it off, and turned it back on to see if the RROD would come back. Thankfully it didn't and I left it off for the rest of the night. After that it worked great.

Idk hopefully this past situation of mine might be of some use to you.

If you get Red Ringed, they send you a new console with an entirely new chipset and internal layout that is tested to be more resistant to RRoD. I believe it's refered to as the "Falcon" chipset. Microsoft doesn't check for RRoD because all they do is see if the console is old enough to get RRoD, then scrap it and replace it with a Falcon 360. They do this to get all the consoles prone to RRoD out of circulation and erase the mistake.

Now, the only real way Falcon 360's get RRoD is if the owner stupidly inserted the console-end of the power cord crooked and turned the console on. That can be fixed by shutting the console down, pushing it in correctly, then powering it back on.

LOL @ That.
Falcon 360s are a little less prone to RROD but they still have a relatively high risk, MS fixed nothing but made it happen less even though it's not working as a shitload of 360 owners with the Falcon are still getting the RROD.
