Title: Dead space

its for the PC, 360, and the PS3.

Dubloh got me hooked on it and I'm buying it as soon as i have enough money for it. It's basically ZOMBIES IN SPAAAAAAACE. you are stuck on a space ship with thousands of mutated space zombies that will scare the crap out of you. It's filled with quite a lot of dark corners and gore.

It's set in third person with your main character wearing a pretty snazzy suit of armor on the right of your screen. it's a very cinematic game. when you get hurt you can just feel the pain in your controller hands. quite scary when are watching it on the ps3 with a good tv, and surround sound turned up very high.

two of the death's that really creeped me out were a giant tentacle impales your head knocking it off and for about a second or 2 you are clawing at your decapitated neck.
and another one where you die, the monster stabs you in the gut, picks you up, tears off your head, stabs you in the chest 4 times, rips you clear in half and then throws you across the room.

the story line and the battle system is very good from what i have watched. i suggest you go and get it, but not play it in the dark alone.

I have it for the PS3 and am in Chapter 9, the game is amazing though a bit linear. The game is basically the third person setup of RE4, (except you can actually fuckin' move while aiming and can switch weapons on the fly without having to go into your menu) in space and all you do throughout most of the game is go to one part of the ship, fix something/get something/kill something and then go to the next area and rinse and repeat. The game is like a movie since there is no heads up display and everything is n real time and the graphics are amazing. The games scares are mostly some alien popping out of nowhere and scaring the dump out of you and this happens ALOT, after about chapter 4 you learn to expect cause it becomes obvious they are gonna come. Play the game on a HDTV and you will be happy, I pity all you SDTV users cause you're gonna have a hell of a time reading the data logs. Also the ripper is fuckin' awesome. >:3

Yeah I picked this game up on Saturday for the PS3 and Nekolo came over and watched me play on Sunday. So far I am on chapter 5. Despite the fact that I have played it at 2 in the morning alone on an HDTV with the suround sound cranked I was not once too scared to progress. Sure, there were a few cheap startles here and there, but I guess my edge for the horror game has been dulled by games like Silent Hill and Bioshock. I was actually kind of dissapointed in that respect. Regardless, I still like this game for its awesome graphics, solid story, and kickass gore. Curb-stomping the hell out of zombies just never gets old.

My only gripe is that it feels like the designers tried too hard to make it scary. Every moment where you may think that you are safe they throw something at you, to the point where you just plain expect a zombie around every corner, regardless wether there is one or not. Now, normally being paranoid to this extent would be scary enough, but the zombies themselves aren't really truly scary for the sole reason that you have the firepower to rip them apart. Why would I be scared when I can launch fucking saws at their bodies and rip them to oblivion and back? Hell, I found myself wanting zombies to come busting out of the ceiling just so I could tear them to pieces. Which brings to mind the battle system which is absolutely awesome. The melee's are sweet as hell, the guns are a breath of fresh air (er, perhaps not the best choice of words for an environment with recycled air), and the real time battles where you mash X at the speed of forever to save yourself are engrossing and get me on the edge of my couch. I can say for sure that the first time I *killed* zombie and it got back up, I made sure to kick the shit out of every zombie thereafter to make sure it was down and stayed down. And I love this game for it.

I'm only on Chapter 5, I'm not sure how many there are, but I feel I've only begun to scathe the surface of this game, at least, I hope.

I'm on Chapter 9 on the PS3 version. I think it's pretty good, although they like to abuse those tiny bomb guys I've found. And the insta-deaths. Maybe it was because I use the Obsidian suit because it looked cool, but those bomb guys kill me instantly if my health is just a tiny bit under max. and there's usually like 6 at a time, which adds to the fun.

I personally use the Scorpion suit although the Obsidian looks really badass.

I've heard some problems with the control system on the PC like a really really sluggish mouse and changing in sensitivity when you are in lower or higher frame rate areas. Also the fact you are unable to change the key configuration makes it a little odd.

i figured i want the game enough to where if i had major problems i would buy a PC 360 controller and use it for the duration i want to play the game then sell it.

Beat it yesterday. I loved the ending and the last boss looked really cool but damn the way you kill him was so lame.

becuase of a program that only lets you have the game on 3 different computers at one time. it messes with the operating system apparently and i cant get it.
