I was reading Nintendo Wii Fanboy and in an article on page 2, they said they discovered a year-old YouTube video of someone enabling an option in the Mii Channel that adds a button on the right side of the screen that starts a search for compatible DS's.

I was skepticle, but I tried it and it indeed does work. It has no purpose, yet (Nintendo hasn't made anything that uses it, but I guess this means it will eventually).

To do it, start up your Wii and go into the Mii Channel. PRESS A, then B, then 1, then HOLD 2 until a pop-up appears asking you to start searching for a DS. It won't find a DS it can connect to, so click Cancel.

Now, an button appears in the bottom right of the Mii Plaza that will let you try again at a later date.

This was discovered a year ago, but it apparently wasn't documented.

It will probably come in effect around the time of the DSi or something. Good to know Nintendo is still doing Wii - DS compatibility things.

I haven't heard of this feature, but it sounds interesting. I always did want nintendo to utilize the ds and wii connectivity more and hopefully this will do it.

Really interesting find there. Although, the only possible usage at this point of time a feature of the like would get would be within the homebrew community. For what it can exactly be used for, needs a bit more creativity on the subject.

mew-too, just because you know of it, that doesn't make my post pointless. In the year I've been here, I haven't seen a single person mention this feature, leading me to believe no one here knew of it. Oh, except you. Apparently you always knew of it. You're just AWESOME that way.

If the feature is unimportant, then why did Nintendo include it? If it's in there, it has to be an important key for some feature later on. No on was discussing it, so I decided to start one. It's hardly a pointless topic.

Now, if I WAS spamming, I'd make a topic with a blank title and an empty post. But I'd never do that. I'm considered by many here the asshole of this forum's membership, but I'm not as big of an asshole as, say, someone (1st party) who picks out an informative topic from a second party (2nd party) they know despises 1st party and immediately accusing 2nd party of spamming just because 2nd party posted a certian topic before 1st party got to.

Oh, Ikarou007, the feature is found in the Mii Channel, so whatever it does, it'll have something to do with Mii's and the DS and/or DSi.

it's not in my motives to insult, i don't disrespect; i'm here to set a proper example to the new people. but nice attempt at trying to make yourself look like a know-it-all. and i highly doubt that you could do any better at spamming

well, i would have to assume that there will, at some point, be Mii integration in DS games. sadly, as others have pointed out, it probably won't happen until after the DSi hits stores. i'm guessing it will appear first in titles along the lines of My Weight Loss Coach, and the language Coach titles. probably also in mini-game collections, like Raving Rabbids. though, it stands to reason that the Mii integration is likely to be found in games that also utilize Nintendo WFC.
