Against my better knowledge, I got dear ol' dad a PS3 because he really really really wanted one. It baffles me as well.
I'll get him the Orange Box for PS3 as an accompanying game when it comes out.

And coming soon it has Metal Gear Solid 4 and Online 2, Little Big Planet, and someday in the far off future Final Fantasy. It's not as bad as people make it out to be. That said, I don't have one but my brother does.

Honestly, the ones I highlighted I'd only call mediocre at best. In my opinion, it seems like PS3 owners are so used to great graphics but crappy games that when they get an actually decent game that also looks great they'd go out on a limb and call it great. I mean the games are fun to play, but at least for me, if it doesnt bring something new to the table I lose interest pretty fast.
And everyone names these games when saying the PS3 is a great system or PS3 > 360 or whatever. Thing is, I could probably name at least 20 games out for the 360 that are superior to nearly all of those. And the 360's quite a decent chunk cheaper.
But that's just my two cents.

Opinion I suppose, and I never said it was better than a 360. It's probably the worst system right now, but that doesn't mean it's bad.

Well I'm saying like... Comparatively, it's bad. By itself, yeah it's got some fun games that you could enjoy.
But really, I think the fact that everyone can only ever name 4-6 games for the PS3 that's worth buying testifies to the fact that it's not worth the hefty price tag.
