Title: AW:DOR Scenario more possible?
S.R.P. - February 27, 2008 02:33 AM (GMT)
Ok, as alot of you know, they have built a "seed bunker" in the Arctic Circle. If you've played Advance Wars: Days of Ruin, you'll know there's a base that they reach that can withstand Nuclear War, and/or Extreme Natural Disaster (like Meteor Shower/Floods/Earthquakes all at once.) I think that's a pretty good idea, but they never mentioned anything about one of those for Humans. I think they'll incorporate a base for Humans/Animals too.
Now then, either they've considered this a viable option for the future, totally ripped this off from AW:DoR, or just want to protect the natural flowers/crops of the world. I think it's the first and last option. I would laugh really hard if the Advance Wars people sued the people that made this. With all the stupidity in the world, I believe that that's a good possibility.
What are your thoughts on this? BTW, the base sort of looked like a Wii on the outside. O.o

I don't know why anyone has posted in this yet, it's a very good topic in my opinion.
On topic, I think this scenario is much like the Noah's ark story in the bible. God feels he needs to punish the whole human race, blah blah blah. Right now, nuclear war is becoming more and more possible (wtf North Korea?), and the human race as a whole has nothing to protect itself from total extinction. By the time it actually happens, or when a missile is actually launched at someone, there will probably be some sort of defense for humans against fallout. Yet the whole thing would be very expensive and someone high up in the government would most likely just give the whole idea a "lol", and forget the issue; not wanting to spend money on something that symbolizes the world coming to an end. So basically, if you watch the flash video "Ze End of Ze World", you are looking into the future.
P.S. - This is my longest post EVER.

Thanks for giving a damn about this month-old topic. Anyone else have anything to say?

I don't get it. You say it wasn't for humans, but it was clearly meant for humans. They made it for the world leaders, so they could survive for years inside.

My brain exploded. No, I understand...I guess the thing in AW just got him thinking about the topic and made him want to post this.

I know that's the thing in AW, but in the real world, they only did it with the plants and food and stuff. I haven't heard of one for Humans IRL yet.

I thought the nukes the States have prevent the other countries from bombing them into the ground, and vice versa.
When more of these are made (in the US, probably), the fear of getting nuked in retaliation sort of melts away, in theory... I think this could mark the beginning of armageddon instead of averting it.

Good point, having some defense in place makes people feel safe even if they aren't at all. So it's kind of like a placebo?

I don't see how people will feel safe because this is for seeds/crops. Not people.
To provide for those who remain alive after the disaster, since crops could be hard to get hold of. It's a good idea if it really works.
I don't think there is any point in making one for people. First of all, if they could/thought it would be useful we would know. Its not as if it hasn't crossed their minds so its clear that for some reason or another it won't be useful. The main reason is probably because they can't put one in the middle of the city and anywhere else is pointless. It also creates a priority issue: who gets it? That could easily end up in more conflict.
