Title: Gas Prices...

Jak - April 26, 2008 05:36 PM (GMT)
Wow what's going on? They're ridiculous! Gas here is now $3.78 a gallon. I'm paying nearly $50 for gas. Predict how high you think gas prices will go in the future. I wouldn't be surprised if it hits $5.00 by the end of the summer.

Over My Head - April 26, 2008 05:38 PM (GMT)
It's crazy. I dont drive yet but it's going to suck when i do if these prices keep going up. In Ridgefield or something like that they had a day when they made their gas prices 22c per gallon. I saw this on the news and there were huge lines of cars waiting to get filled. Imagine how much money they made D:

Eventually the government will become desperate or something and will do something about this since its causing global warming.

Double Oh Seven - April 26, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Whats happening to gas prices? The oil companies want to make more money, thats what is happening. If more oil refineries were built gas prices would plummet, but you know when the last oil refinery in America was built? The 70's. Instead, they are building more oil riggs. They know that people need gas, and they can raise the prices as high as they want and no one can do anything about it. Its greed, and its destroying the economy.

Damon - April 26, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
I will have to wait a couple years before I can drive, thus I do not care currently. But my mom gripes about them all the time. They need to go down. I asked my mom to get one of those eco freindly cars, she said they cost alot. I just hope they go down by the time I get a car and drive.

rubberbandmanzor - April 27, 2008 12:01 AM (GMT)
The bottom line is that gas is not going to go down. That is almost certainly a fact.
I think the real problem with gas is that it is so unstable. Just the other day, in a one-hour errand run, gas went up 20 cents.

Zeratul - April 27, 2008 08:46 AM (GMT)
Look on the bright side, at least it's cheaper than every single alternative for fuel we've been looking at. =P

And it's the least controversial... >.>

I'm 18, and I have my liscence. I usually prefer walking, or using the bus to get around. I haven't even touched my car, aside from long distance travel.

I will be driving on my own fairly soon, already practicing driving and the such. nice job on everything kitty. but for some of us in the country you really cant walk anywhere. You really cant even bike anywhere either. living in a city would make commuting that much easier, for me going to the store means going about 10-15 miles <____<, for people in the city its like what, 2? also here in WI its 3.59 for regular and 4.19 for diesel.

Doctah - April 29, 2008 02:08 AM (GMT)
That's only your part of Wisconsin. In mine, it's lower than that.

Jiya - April 29, 2008 04:18 PM (GMT)
Yeah, the gas prices are insane but it won't stop me from going to work, school, or visiting my friends in Kissimmee D:< I always fill my car when it reaches half a tank of gas, and I still end up paying about $25 though it is still a lot compare to paying like $15 bucks when it was like 2.10 a gallon.

Hopefully this crisis will be resolved in the future. other wise, we are gonna have big problems.

Divette - April 30, 2008 03:12 AM (GMT)
Over here, the gas prices are about 3.50-4 dollars a gallon. That's scary considering that it was 2.67 a few days ago. O_O

Demonater - May 8, 2008 09:16 PM (GMT)
$5.00, by the end of the summer?! I'm thinking at least $5.50!

Damon - May 9, 2008 01:47 AM (GMT)
lol, I better start mowing some more lawns and making more lemonade stands. Gonna need that hybrid car! D:<!

lol - May 12, 2008 04:12 AM (GMT)
Yeah, it's pretty insane. My grandparents have to buy the Super gasoline since they have a turbo charged car. They can pay up to 60, probably higher. Fortunately, I don't dive that much, and I drive a hybrid, so I haven't paid for gas since November of last year.

dragonfly - May 12, 2008 05:00 AM (GMT)
i don't think gas will hit $5 by the end of summer. it'll most likely happen within a year from now, sure. but i'd be surprised if it hits $4.50 by the end of summer. (god, i hope i'm right...)

here's a little food for thought for some of you: a friend of mine and i drove to New Orleans back in '99 for Mardi Gras. before we headed home, we filled up at a gas station down the street from our hotel for 67¢ per gallon. that was just over 9 years ago. NOW how high do our current gas prices seem?

Captain Barbossa - May 13, 2008 04:34 AM (GMT)
Aye, 'tis a tragedy to us buccaneers...

Me old man claimed his own Honda Civic as his ship. Yours truly piloted the vessel for 4 days, 4 nights. WENT DOWN TO 1/4 A TANK THAT IT DID! :omhaxrawr: Stopped over at the cove to fill up the beaut, entered 4 golden doubloons (that's $12 for you English speakers) at the top of the mornin'. All day we set sail, the Civic and I. I just returned to port and had to put in 10 golden doubloons ($20) to satisfy the poor Civic's thirst.

Aye, gas prices. $3.83 where I set sail. ARGH~!

Nekolo - May 13, 2008 12:11 PM (GMT)
uhhh... now the g'ass price is going crazy and is 3.75 where I live and its just the beginning of the season

Divette - May 14, 2008 04:37 AM (GMT)
Gas prices here are now 4.50 and look it how low they were a few days ago. O_O Do they like cranking these prices up?

buckyboy - May 14, 2008 06:03 PM (GMT)
Gas prices are about 3.60 where I live. I only earn 7.00, so half of my wage is towards gas...comapred to six years ago when gas was about .90 and the normal wage was around 5.40. Let's see. 2 gallons/hr or 6 gallons/hr...

Purarnick - May 20, 2008 11:49 PM (GMT)
I live on Cape Cod so the prices here are like 4.75 because it costs a bit more to ship them to us. I think it's outragous. I think it's time to buy some bikes. It'll save a bit of money.

charlie6078 - May 29, 2008 07:57 PM (GMT)
the price here went over $2/L last week. and theres no stopping it, its still going up :mmmrph:

Nekolo - May 29, 2008 09:47 PM (GMT)
puranick cape cod is alaska right? sorry about the gas prices :(
charlie uses liters? ok isnt a liter pretty much half a gallon?
well anyway its 3.90 in WI now

Divette - May 30, 2008 03:36 AM (GMT)
Um...no. Cape Cod is Massachusetts not Alaska. Where did you get that idea from?

once in a blue mew - May 31, 2008 12:28 AM (GMT)
Well look at it this way, if gas prices keep climbing, either people will stop using their cars so excessively, or they'll continue to be idiots and spend almost 5 dollars on a gallon of gas. One of the two, and personally, I'd prefer the former option.

But then again, what the hell do I know? My mom drives me around everywhere.

Graveman - May 31, 2008 03:06 AM (GMT)
This gas situation is insane. When Clinton was in office a drum of oil cost around 50 bucks. Now it's around 130. The oil company owners are getting rich off of us by jacking up their prices for their own personal gain, and recently they were questioned about that. They just fucking smirked like nothing was wrong.

Nothing is wrong, right? By the start of summer it'll be 5 bucks for a gallon of gas, and by the end of summer, 6 bucks. I hear by some point next year, if it keeps rising, it'll hit nearly 10.

Disgusting.

Me, my mom and my brother agree, we're heading for another Great Depression VERY soon. Gas prices keep going up, truckers wont be able to afford to drive across the country delivering food to supermarkets, no one will be getting food, or medicine, people will be dropping like flies, no one will be going to work, resulting in massive country-wide unemployment... I can see it.

~FirePowah~ - May 31, 2008 04:33 PM (GMT)
Meh, I walk everywhere. Saves me money and it's how i keep in shape.

Divette - June 3, 2008 03:26 AM (GMT)
Hopefully the prices will go down when we get a new president.

Obama will save us all!?

Well... I can see the GD scenario, but really, I don't think Bush could cause that much damage in about 4 or 3 months. (Or however long it is to November.)

Anyways, another way we could go is to make more hybrid cars that run on other types of fuel.

Divette - June 6, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
Actually I was thinking Clinton could.

Actually I was thinking Clinton could.

She could have, if she turned out to be the democratic candidate. Everyone at my school is like "Oh Clinton shouldn't be president! She would take over the world!" No, thats not true. She was way more experience than Obama, and then Bill Clinton was president, the country was in great shape. Much better shape than how it is right now. Obama is probably going to be the new president, and probably McCain would be a better president than him.

Back on topic: The gas prices are getting out of hand...The gas companies are just getting greedy.
