Title: Wii or 360

scrubs - July 10, 2008 06:55 PM (GMT)
In my hunt to get a 360 [after mine broke] I glanced over at a Wii. I noticed it was quite cheep. So i was pondering, "which one should I get?"
So I decided to ask my fellow Topians, which one should I get?

Nabs - July 10, 2008 06:58 PM (GMT)
yo scrubs put nabs on that poll too

scrubs - July 10, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
I can't/don't know how to edit polls

Nabs - July 10, 2008 07:17 PM (GMT)
well sorry dude but this poll is deemed fail until then

Angaheim - July 10, 2008 07:20 PM (GMT)
360 with Xbox Live is way better. It is more pricey, but totally worth it. I haven't played my Wii in a while.

Christian - July 10, 2008 07:32 PM (GMT)
I say Wii I think its more fun. Also if theres anymore brawl tourneys you can finally participate.

Bardock - July 10, 2008 08:30 PM (GMT)
wii.

end of discussion.

A valid point.

The 360 has the best online. More online multiplayer games, plus you can talk to your friends while playing. Also, it has more, better games.

Nekolo - July 10, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
Wii, 360 is good but nearly everything is a first person shooter it seems.

also one word. Brawl

stienerperson - July 10, 2008 10:23 PM (GMT)
360 by miles. Don't listen to those Nintendo fanboys Scrubs, Brawl is only a decent game and is not worth a Wii for it

Viva Pinata, Oblivion, Dead Rising, Skate, and Burnout Paradise all say hi.

Marine Ranger - July 10, 2008 10:50 PM (GMT)
I would have to say get both. A 360 first cause you already have all the stuff for it and the Wii cause it has many fun games to play. Brawl, Mario Cart, Wii play, Wii sports, and that is just to name a few that I have played on a friends Wii :dtu:

Only enough for one.

Marine Ranger - July 10, 2008 11:45 PM (GMT)
How much stuff do you have for your 360

like 360 is any better.

the only decent games I see for 360 are Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed.

Then you are blind. Assassin's Creed isn't even one of the 360's better games.

True, AC kinda sucks imo. There are much better games for the 360.

It's a hard pick since both systems are very good. It just depends on your taste in the end. Since you already own a few 360 accessories I guess you could choose that.

Marine Ranger - July 11, 2008 02:43 PM (GMT)
I would say go for the 360 since you have some stuff for it already.

GTAIV, Lost Odsessy, CoD4 Battlefield GoW and Banjo-Kazooie which should be epic :3

Doctah - July 11, 2008 07:39 PM (GMT)
Gears 2 and Duke Nukem Forever.

Not yet released, but they will be epic as well.

Nekolo - July 12, 2008 05:07 PM (GMT)
now that i see you already had a 360 and i'm guessing still have the games for it, i'd either go for another 360 and save money buying games. or sell your 360 games for a wii ^^.

Shygirlfrumfl - July 12, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
I like the Wii better then the 360 because the Wii has more games that I like on it and the 360 doesnt.Plus I find the Wii more fun.

Lionheartf815 - July 12, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Overall, I'll have to hand it to the 360 but in the end it's about the games that you like.

Wii
~ Awesome controls
~ Internet Browser
~ All Nintendo's star franchises.
~ Durability, the Wii is argurably the least likely to break.
~ Full Backwards compatibility
~ Cheap as hell

- Shit internet, friend codes aren't horrible but really...
- Game library pales in comparison to 360.
- Wii Connect 24 may fry your Wii. (Very low chance)
- 512MB Flash Memory and no compatible hard drive upgrade.
- Controls may not be to your liking.
- Lack of built-in ethernet port.

360
~ Argurably the best gaming controller.
~ Game Library is the best out of the 3 consoles.
~ Pro package is now $299 but you need alot of memory so I suggest you still get the elite.
~ Best Online period. XBL is still the best.

- Shit hardware, 33% fail rate is massive. You take a huge risk by getting a 360.Which comes to another negative.
- Shit customer support. Takes 6-8 weeks to deliver back your 360 after you send it to Microsoft.
- Red Ring of Death.
- Might be to expensive for a few.

From that you can decide for yourself or get a PS3 :custom3:

Actually, I'm going to have to say something here. While I agree with most things, there are some that aren't quite correct.

The RROD has been fixed, and those are the 360s that they are shipping now. Also, I've had no need for the extra memory that the Elite has. I have plenty of extra memory with the Premium. But, if you watch a lot of movies or play a lot of games (and I mean A LOT), then get the Elite.

No the red ring of death still exist but the failure rate is most likely a bit lower but the risk is still there. The only thing Microsoft has done is extend your warranty to combat this problem which is a shitty solution, the hardware hasn't changed.

kidyoshi11 - July 13, 2008 02:38 PM (GMT)
i would say to get both, just like me ;)

scrubs - July 13, 2008 08:22 PM (GMT)
Well, I got my system today. I got a.. 360! The +s outway the - IMO. Thanks to all who gave their opinion.

Nekolo - July 13, 2008 11:58 PM (GMT)
i was at a gamestop yesterday and the demo one had the red ring on it... when my friend who works there saw it he started laughing.

ZXDarknessfalls - July 16, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)
Damn right I started laughing, thats the 4th one that our store has had already lol. The just don't like to live.
reading somewhere in here I saw someone say the 360 control was sweet.
Don't you mean the Dreamcast had awesome controls? Cause when you look at original xbox controls its almost an exact replica, same buttons, cept they added the 2 small white and black buttons. They even kept the pointless memory ports on them lol. Then the 360 is just a better version of the xbox model, getting rid of the pointless memory card slots.

Tutankoopa - July 16, 2008 04:35 PM (GMT)
I've had a Wii, and it's remained faithful for a long time.

I haven't got a 360, and I don't have any interest in buying one. The RROD rumours also scares me, but I'm not so much of a bigot to say much else about the 360.
