Title: Question/Debate of the Day

If there is one thing that many forums lack, it is good, solid, (and hopefully mature) discussion. Here at Topia, this would be promoted by the Question of the Day. The QOTD/DOTD would be like a poll of the day, except with a little bit more though out responses.
What would happen is that me, or whomever would be hosting it for that day, would present a question, be it about morals, politics, or just breaking news. Everyone would respond with their opinion in that matter in a hopefully longer post than they would provide for a less thought out Poll of the Day.
So, what do you guys think? Yay, nay? Vote in the poll above and please leave a comment. (It would be kind of redundant to vote and not leave a comment)

maybe a debate of the week? put a little more thought and time into it and have 1 debate of the week and then the pole of the day as a lol around kinda thing.

A Q/D forum would seriously be a great idea. You could probably have it as every week like Nekolo put it. I'm more in favor of this so more people have a chance to have a good debate over a subject, plus this gives more time for the topic creator to choose a solid topic to debate over instead of something everyday.

I think this should replace POTD. In POTD, most people vote and not post, or just post 1 word. This could generate a nice, long discussion.

No sense in replacing it, I myself love POTD, even with what you say it true.
I say make it every week, then it gives the debate topic longer to flesh out and be thought upon.

Yeah, it makes perfect sense. I've always like the POTD for it's casual affect on actually getting me to post, so I agree with an addition of the POTD, along with the intention of keeping the POTD.
Once a week sounds fine, since I doubt any active discussion concerning though-provoking matters will happen on a daily basis.

I strongly support this. I think it could really spark some intelligent discussion and a lot of interest.
