Title: QOTW Week 1: The Economy, does it affect you?
Double Oh Seven - August 4, 2008 11:36 PM (GMT)
So we are all aware of the rising gas prices among other such things that are having a noticeable affect on our Economies. And that leads us to our first Question of the Week.
Does the economy, be it good or bad where you live, affect your life? And if so, to what extent? In addition, have you been having to (or have your parents or room-mates been asking you to) make adjustments to your lifestyle?
Let us keep our responses tasteful everyone, and of course, lets put some thought into our words.

Yes, it somewhat affects myself and/or my family noticeably. I find myself noticing small things and possibly making adjustments. The gas and food prices are going up. Hopefully, we find a solution to things soon. D:

I have really seen no change in my life... my parents usually save most of their money and don't go spending nearly every cent on trinkets. Though, we did just get a new TV. I really havnet bought any videa recently either...
my life really doesn't change too much no matter what.

More so gas prices are what have been affecting my family, and I. I can't say it has a big affect on me, aside from transportation concerns. I can't expect to be dropped off where I want to go at any convenient time, I see anymore.

No, quite the opposite. I've been spending more then before.

Nothing seems to be affecting my parents that I see. Besides the raising prices for gas and everything else... :ehhcrap:
Otherwords my dad just got a job, we didn't have enough money comming through pretty much all summer, so now things wont seem as expensive as they really are and I'll be able to do some stuff I used to do.

Yes, the it somewhat affects myself and/or my family noticeably. I find myself noticing small things and possibly making adjustments. It's hardly anything drastic. We just have to watch what we spend from now on, and be less careless about our money.

It's... still the same as always. I don't go anywhere, I still eat the same stuff (But it's from whole-sale places and stuff.) and I still wear the same kinds of clothes (From last year and stuff we find super mega cheap at sales for back to school.) and I still use the computer as excessively as last year. I also can't afford to go to movies with my friends, I can't buy games or software for my computer, and I can't really do anything social with these gas prices. But I don't mind, I have like, 3 friends IRL, and only one of them does incredibly social stuff.
My parents, on the other hand, are like, ZOMGWTFBBQ SAVE MONEY. Yeah, My dad gets super pissed at my mom for giving us a dollar or two to spend on whatever we'd like. (Which we normally save.) and then he drives around in a tight-ass car to work (Like, 30-some MPG on Diesel.) and he's a really angry man already, so this situation isn't really helping us or him out either.
So...

Only, it's the "my family" aspect of that, because... well... I live my life like any other day, even before this Economic situation/problem.

I haven't seen how its affecting my family, but maybe I'm just blind to it.
Bardock - August 11, 2008 02:32 AM (GMT)
It somewhat helps my family and myself, but it's not anything major worth noticing or explaining.

Gas wise, the ecomony is hurting my family and also myself. My mom is seriously being "nit-picky" when it comes to gas since she never wants to drive. Plus since she and I have no form of income, money is becoming more and more tight to her these days. (To some degree)
So yeah the economy is pretty bad these days since more and more people are getting put out of a job, increasing gas prices, and food products are also soaring. I remember picking up orange the other day at the grocery store and I think I paid around $5 bucks for it. That's pretty outrageous imo.
