It will be released April 09 in the US and Sept. 13 in Japan. Why has this version come out so soon? DP are like not even a year old..

There's been a third Pokemon main game for each generation, I don't see Platinum as a running out of ideas game

It's basically a tradition concerning Pokemon games. There's always the last cherry to top off the other two scoops.

And Wolf, it's happened before. Pokemon Crystal was released little more, or less than a year after Gold and Silver's debut. So it really isn't that surprising.

Have you ever noticed the 3rd one isn't much of a step up? They add minor things and people go nuts and buy it D:

Yellow introduced quite a few things that were different from Red and Blue. The inability to choose your starter certainly changed anyone's early experiences of the first generation games by a lot. That's only one of the differences among many others between Yellow, and it's cohorts.

Crystal shifted the story to revolve around Suicune, and was the first Pokemon game to include the feature of being able to choose your gender. Despite the fact that the girl looked like a transvestite. The Pokemon sprites also moved upon the start of the battle. Also, to the best of my recollection, it was the first Pokemon game to include the Battle Tower, which provided another great challenge to experience after the Elite Four.

Emerald shifted the story even more from Ruby and Sapphire, proving itself to be much longer than either the aforementioned two. Not only that, but it had the immensely huge Battle Frontier awaiting after the Elite Four. A possible three incredible steps up from the previous puny Battle Tower alone. The time used to conquer ever challenge posed there could rival the time spent on completing the game up to the Elite Four.

So finally now, there's Platinum. Shifting the story even more from Diamond and Pearl to revolve around not only Giratina, but arguably Shaymin as well. A whole new place has been added, in addition to more Wi-Fi capabilities. Namely being the ability to visit the Underground with friends over Wi-Fi. Among many more updates to come.

Platinum sounds interesting and fun.

The reason why I wont be able to is cuz the DS Lite I had broke in the car accident I had on Father's Day and since I was in the process of moving cuz of bankruptcy I have not been able to get one. But now that I have a job and just turned 16 so I can have over 40 hrs in, now I will save up for my new DS Light and Platnuim. :happyjoy:
